Russian Foreign Ministry today tweeted a sarcastic response to a statement issued by the NATO Ministerial Conference that Russia is the most significant security threat to the Western military alliance, which justifies an increase in military spending.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on Friday at a meeting of NATO defense ministers at which members of the Council of Ministers had agreed to “view Russia as the main security challenge to justify increased funding for the military alliance.”
“We will take NATO’s confrontational stand into account in our foreign policy and military planning,” Zakharova said.
