Swedish police have released a video of a surveillance camera while searching for a suspect who detonated a bomb that injured two women at a health center in Gothenburg. He is suspected of several similar attacks.
The November 11 bombing was likely part of similar attacks targeted at a health clinic owner, authorities say. The footage was recently released.
The suspect is described as an “African man” who is seen coming to the Haga Clinic with a face mask. The explosion took place in a sanitary facility.
One of the female victims of the African man’s bombing was seriously injured, another, an 85-year-old woman, was slightly injured. This was the fourth bomb attack against a medical clinic or its owner.
“We are absolutely certain that the picture shows the author. There is no doubt about that, ”prosecutor Mats Ihlbom told Göteborgs-Posten. “We now hope that someone will be able to identify him or her for us. In that case, we must be able to move forward.”
Police believe the suspect is involved in at least three similar cases – the detonation of a hand grenade at the clinic owner’s home, a separate explosion in a building in the company, and another grenade attack on the owner’s apartment. The suspect is being sought for attempted murder.
