The giant ship blocking the Suez Canal has been freed. Yet unclear how soon the Suez Canal will be open for traffic

The ship “Ever Given”, which blocked the Suez Canal, managed to be refloated in the early morning of March 29, according to a tweet from the transport company Inchcape Shipping.

As noted by Reuters, the vessel was leveled in the channel, but it’s further towing will continue after high tide on Monday. It is still unknown when the movement of other ships on the Suez Canal will be able to resume.

A spokesman for the Japanese company, Shoei Kisen Kaishan, told AFP that Ever Given was “stuck at a 30-degree angle to the canal, but it has come off” and added that the vessel has “turned” but is not yet in motion.
