Right Wing Watch, a group that reviews social media content for controversial statements, before explicitly or implicitly calling for the accounts to be shut down, is banned on YouTube. However, within hours, YouTube apologized and reinstated the group’s account.
YouTube informed RWW on Monday that after a review of their video content, the platform found “severe or repeated violations” of Community Guidelines – throwing out a subsequent appeal from RWW and removing their content.
Anti-censorship advocates on social media were clearly elated by YouTube’s decision.
However, hours after banning the account of Right Wing Watch, YouTube has apologized and reinstated the Democrat pressure group that argues for censorship of “dangerous behavior” online.
