On Wednesday, France banned the Génération Identitaire movement, which focuses on anti-immigration activities. The movement is accused of inciting discrimination, hatred, and violence, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said.
The «Génération identitaire» association was banned this morning in the Council of Ministers, in accordance with instructions of the President of the Republic,” Darmanin announced.
The Interior Minister said the movement incites discrimination, hatred and violence.
The Generation Identity movement has repeatedly been involved in attempts to prevent illegal immigrants from invading France by carrying out control measures in the French Alps and the Pyrenees.
On 13 February, Interior Minister Darmanin announced that he had launched proceedings to ban the group in response to anti-immigration measures.
