NGO’s Ship Ocean Viking Demands 572 Illegal Migrants to Land in EU [Tweet]

The Norwegian-registered ship Ocean Viking, affiliated with the migrant smuggling organization SOS Mediterranee, requires permission to enter EU port to release 572 illegal migrants who were helped to cross the Mediterranean from the Libyan coast.

The NGO SOS Mediterranee, which transports illegal migrants across the Mediterranean after picking them up from an inflatable boat off Africa, is now demanding that the EU allow them to land 572 migrants in any EU port.

Ocean Viking claims that a large proportion of the illegal migrants taken on board are children. However, neither children nor women can be seen in the film images from the news documenting the campaign, where all those picked up are young men.

“We call on the EU to coordinate efforts so that the 572 rescued people on board can quickly land in a safe place,” SOS Méditerranée wrote in a press release.
