Residents of the Netherlands Can Get Vaccine In Virtual Reality Glasses [Tweet]

People who are afraid of vaccinations but still want to get vaccinated in the Netherlands can get vaccinated against COVID-19 using virtual reality glasses, according to Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge.

“Are you afraid to get shots, but still want to be vaccinated (against COVID-19) or revaccinated? The Municipal Health Services (GGD) are happy to help you with this. For example, there are more and more places where virtual reality glasses, which allow you to relax during vaccination, are used. These methods also applied in Rotterdam,” de Jonge wrote on Twitter.

The total number of COVID-19 cases documented in the Netherlands during the pandemic is estimated to reach 3.07 million, with 20,716 deaths. COVID-19 is fully vaccinated in about 84 percent of the country’s population aged 12 and higher.

The Netherlands began vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 years with dangerous diseases on December 20. The country will begin vaccinating all children aged 5 to 11 years in the second half of January.
