Ontario Premier to Immigrants: “Go Somewhere Else” If They Want to “Collect The Dole and Sit About” [Video]

In the light of uproar over “demeaning” and “racist” statements regarding immigrants, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has refused to apologize, urging newcomers to “go somewhere else” if they want to “collect the dole and sit about.”

The premier made the controversial remarks during a press conference on Monday, where he spoke about the “desperate” labor shortages faced by the province and stressed that his government was supportive of “hard-working people.”

Lamenting that there are not enough skilled trades workers to fill vacancies in infrastructure projects, Ford said he had only “one criteria” for immigrants: They should come and “work your tail off” like “every other new Canadian has.”

“If you think you’re coming to collect the dole and sit around – not going to happen, go somewhere else. You want to work? Come here. We have so much work, we can’t keep up with it right now,” he said.

The comments sparked instant backlash, with the province’s opposition parties calling for an apology. During the legislative Question Period on Tuesday, Ford refused to apologize, saying that he is “pro-immigration” and that his point was that more immigration was needed.

Russia Consideres Fining Google up to 20% of Annual Revenue If It Fails to Remove Banned Content

Roskomnadzor, the Russian media regulator, said it would seek a sanction from Google for failing to delete illegal content on many occasions as soon as this week. The sanction will be between 5% and 20% of Google’s Russian revenue.

The watchdog highlighted Google had failed to pay $458,100 (32.5 million rubles) in penalties levied earlier this year. The latest fine may be as much as $240 million, marking a significant increase from the previous penalty.

Last year, Google’s turnover in Russia totaled 85.5 billion rubles ($1.2 billion), according to the SPARK business database, cited by the media. Thus, a 5-20% fine would amount to between 4.3 and 17.1 billion rubles ($60 million-240 million).

6,000 Polish Soldiers Deployed to Guard Poland’s Border With Belarus

In the midst of the ongoing migration crisis, Warsaw has deployed roughly 6,000 Polish soldiers to protect the border with Belarus, according to Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

“Almost 6,000 soldiers from the 16th, 18th, and 120th divisions are already stationed at the Polish-Belarusian border,” Blaszczak tweeted, adding that they assist the border guards with preventing any illegal crossings.

The Polish border guard reported 612 such attempts at the border with Belarus over the past day. This month, some 10,000 attempts to illegally cross the border were detected, following 20,000 cases in September.

In recent months, Poland along with neighbouring Latvia and Lithuania have reported an influx of migrants trying to cross into the European Union from Belarus and accused Minsk of facilitating illegal migration to destabilize the bloc in retaliation for sweeping sanctions.

Several People Caught on Camera Shoplifting From Store in California [Video]

Video footage published on NBC Los Angeles shows several thieves at a popular retail store in Riverside County. A witness says the shoplifters calmly walked inside and took anything they wanted, and one of them even used a special cutter to remove security leashes on expensive purses. The video was shot by Lindsey Rodriguez who just noticed a man casually walking out of a Marshalls in Hemet, with his arms full of clothing for which he apparently did not pay.

“I worked every single day, 40 hours a week during this whole pandemic, and then I go in and see that, and it’s disheartening. It’s not Hemet,” she says. “People shopping there were just kind of standing there watching. The only thing I figured I could do was to get their identities and their license plates and give them to somebody who will do something with them,” said the woman adding that after she finished the video, she called to 911.

Police came but did not do anything that could help to chase and catch the thieves, noting that no one from Marshalls has reported the crimes so far.

“What is this teaching our children? I don’t want my kids to see that kind of stuff when we are going shopping at 7 o’clock at night,” the Rodriguez added.

The situation has obviously worsened with the start of the active protests organized by the BLM movement after the death of George Floyd. The crime and punishment issue turned out into a racism agenda and opened the doors to lots of “offended” people to “protest” and show that they “disrespect the officers” – certainly, with no way better than to commit crimes, as if those crimes were directed against policemen and not against other citizens. With the uncontrolled flow of migrants into the country, the scale of crimes showed a sharp spike – it got even more massive and cruel.

This summer, in the US state of San Francisco, an African-American teenager cycled into a Walgreens store and collected a large number of goods in a garbage bag, after which he left the store without paying for them. Shoppers and a security guard looked at the criminal in shock, but no one tried to stop him. Instead, the witnesses filmed what was happening in the video.

Looks very much the same as the rules introduced by US Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D-Massachusetts) in her People’s Justice Guarantee in 2019, when she claimed that the criminal legal system of the US is racist and xenophobic, so she proposed to make justice “less strict and more humane, equal for all” by abolishing the responsibility for the theft of goods that were “vital”.

This new reality turned the whole situation upside-down and now, American citizens should think twice, whom they are really afraid of – policemen who can ‘kill them as they did with Floyd’ or multiple criminals going here and there freely and able to do whatever comes to their minds with not a single chance to be stopped – neither by other citizens afraid of consequences of such confrontation nor by policemen afraid of being blamed of discrimination and abuse of power.

Report: Facebook’s AI Technology For Removing Hate Speech Doesn’t Operate

According to internal corporate docs obtained by The Wall Street Journal, Facebook’s artificial intelligence (AI) technology for identifying and removing postings involving hate speech and violence does not operate (WSJ).

“The newspaper argued in a report that the documents include a mid-2019 note, in which a Facebook senior engineer said that the problem is that “we [the company] do not and possibly never will have a model that captures even a majority of integrity harms, particularly in sensitive areas”.

The engineer estimated that Facebook’s automated systems scrapped posts that generated merely 2% of the hate speech views that violated its rules.

“Recent estimates suggest that unless there is a major change in strategy, it will be very difficult to improve this beyond 10-20% in the short-medium term”, he wrote.

The claims echoed those by another team of Facebook employees who previously argued that AI systems were removing posts that generated 3% to 5% of the views of hate speech on the platform, and 0.6% of all content that violated Facebook’s policies against violence and incitement.

In 2020, Facebook CEO Zuckerberg expressed confidence that the platform’s AI would be able to take down “the vast majority of problematic content”. He spoke as the social networking giant claimed that most hate speech is taken down from the platform before users even see it.

According to Facebook’s recent report, the hate speech detection rate currently stands at 97%.

Vienna Museums Created Account on OnlyFans As Other Social Media Censoring Nude Art [Video]

The Vienna Tourist Board has just launched an account on OnlyFans, claiming that the platform, which is primarily used for pornographic content, is the only location where nude artworks from the city’s museums may have “the freedom they deserve.”

The Austrian capital is “home to some of the world’s most famous artworks, many containing nudity. The most prominent social networks have policies in place that ban or censor such works,” the tourist board explained.

“With our OnlyFans account, we want to give these artworks the freedom they deserve – including on social media.”

Vienna has been teasing its move to subscription-based OnlyFans on other platforms with a clip showing the more decent parts of the works by Peter Paul Rubens, Egon Schiele, and other artists whose work is exhibited in the city’s museums, and asking the audience if they wanted to see more.

German State Has Given Food Stores Authority to Prohibit Entry to Unvaccinated [Tweet]

According to the German daily BILD, the state of Hesse has passed a motion allowing food businesses to determine whether or not to allow unvaccinated people to enter.

“The pressure on the unvaccinated grows and grows! In Hesse, all retailers, including the supermarket, can now decide for themselves whether they want to implement the 3G rule (vaccinated, tested, recovered) or the 2G rule – so far there have been no access restrictions in supermarkets to give everyone the option of basic services grant,” the article states.

The Hessian State Chancellery confirms to BILD that the “2G option model” also applies to the food retail sector.

An English language report on the development notes “2G regulations refer to public places where only vaccinated persons are given the option to enter.“

The so called 3G rules still require anyone wanting to enter a building to prove they have tested negative, but the 2G rules remove that option altogether.

The German government had excluded supermarkets and stores selling essential items from most restrictions, but Hessen’s government has now put this decision into the hands of the stores.

The federal state is home to more than six million people and includes the major city of Frankfurt.

Covid-19 Passes in Italy Come Into Effect For All Workers: Hundreds Protesters Block Ports [Videos]

Hundreds of people have gathered at Italian ports to protest the new requirement that all workers show their Covid-19 health permits. If you don’t follow the rules, you could lose your job and face fines.

On Friday, around 300 protesters blockaded an entrance to the port of Genoa in Northwest Italy in opposition to the so-called ‘green passes’, which require both private and public workers to prove that they are either vaccinated, have tested negative for Covid, or have recently recovered from the virus.

If workers cannot produce a green pass within a grace period of five days, they will be suspended without pay and could face a fine of up to €1,500 ($1,730) should they dare to work on regardless.

Footage uploaded to Twitter showed a large gathering of people in high-visibility jackets in protest against the measure and signs saying “No green pass.”

Meanwhile, in Trieste in the northeast, some labor groups threatened to block operations indefinitely in defiance against the mandate, with crowds of hundreds demonstrating at the city’s major port.

Evolutionary Biologist’s Post Censored on Instagram [Tweet]

Evolutionary researcher Colin Wright was blocked by Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, when he shared a chart demonstrating that men are biologically stronger than women in a variety of sports, even if they had undergone gender changing treatment.

Instagram removed Wright’s post which contained a chart from a scientific study titled Transgender Women in the Female Category of Sport: Perspectives on Testosterone Suppression and Performance Advantage. The peer-reviewed study was published in the journal Medicine & Sports, which has been in wide circulation since 1969. 

The study by researchers at the University of Manchester in the UK and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm found that biological males categorically have performance advantages over biological females across sports that are contested in the Olympics.

The study, one of several to conclude the same thing, found that the use of typical testosterone suppression methods doesn’t diminish the performance advantage that exists between biological men and women by a significant amount.

Wright also noted that he wasn’t able to appeal the censorship, despite Instagram claiming he could do so:

Scottish Police: Calling Woman “Nice” Is “Sexual Violence” [Tweet]

Calling a woman “nice” and buying her dinner are said to be precursors to “sexual violence,” according to a campaign ad released by Police Scotland.

The campaign is “hoping to tackle male sexual entitlement” and features several different men describing behavior which supposedly is a gateway to sexual assault.

Such behavior includes calling a girl “doll,” giving a girl a “compliment,” such as “nice” and buying a woman dinner or alcoholic drinks, as well as basic male banter.

The ad then mixes in actual examples of gross behavior, such as sending dick pics, to conflate everything as one.

“I’d ask all men to watch this film – and then encourage your sons, fathers, brothers and friends to do likewise,” tweeted First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon.
