Kim Yo-jong, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s sister and close aide, may have moved even higher in the party structure, based on her treatment in the official media during her most recent public visit.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) identified Kim Yo-jong alongside officials of the governing Workers’ Party’s Political Bureau during last week’s memorial service for the power siblings’ father, Kim Jong-il. She was mentioned alongside the Politburo’s sitting and alternate members, the party’s policy-making body that meets multiple times a year.

During the mournful Friday ceremony remembering 10 years since Kim Jong-death, il’s Kim Jong-il was also seen standing closer than expected to her brother at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. Some analysts believed that it could signal a promotion to an alternate member of the Politburo, or at the very least, a shift in the relative influence of party officials.

Kim Jong-un’s sister had served on the Politburo as an alternative member but was demoted in January during the party’s annual session. In early December, the Politburo met to outline the agenda for a full Central Committee session later that month and the party congress the following year.

The meeting was described by state media as the fifth in 2021, implying that the party leadership held an unpublicized meeting since their third meeting in September, which was widely reported. Some analysts speculated that decisions impacting power rankings may have been made there.

German Health Minister: Entire Population Should be Immediately Vaccinated [Video]

COVID vaccination should be made mandatory for the whole German population, according to German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach.

“Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) fears that the number of infections will grow substantially as a result of the new Omicron virus strain,” according to Der Spiegel. When Lauterbach went to a vaccination centre in Hanover, he stated, “I assume a massive fifth wave.”

Lauterbach further declared “We have to assume that the wave of omicrons that we are facing, which in my opinion we cannot prevent, will be a massive challenge for our hospitals, for our intensive care units, but also for society as a whole.”

The health minister further argued that a double vaccination alone would not be enough to “bring Omicron under control.”

“We mustn’t be lulled into a false sense of security,” he said, urging that a “massive booster campaign” is needed “boosting several million people a week”.

Lauterbach went on to say that he intended to try “every possible” to make the vaccines mandatory.

Protester Arrested After Refusing to Show Vaccine Pass to Buy Food [Video]

An anti-vaccine mandate demonstrator was arrested by police in New York after refusing to present a COVID pass to buy food, according to a video.

The incident occurred at a Panera Bread store in Brooklyn. The man in the video, who is allegedly an army veteran, expresses his displeasure that police repeatedly allow the American flag to fall to the ground while arresting him.

“The flag does not touch the ground!” asserts the veteran. “The Constitution of the United States is being violated – I cannot eat!” he adds.

As he is marched out of the store, the man repeatedly informs authorities that he is nonviolent and has no weapons.

Despite their claims that they are not protesters, other customers who have already paid for food are also asked to leave the store.

According to the individual who shared the video on Twitter, the same man was caught twice last week for attempting to order food without presenting a vaccination passport.

Protesters Arrested in Brussels as a Result of Anti-Covid Restrictions Protests [Video]

Thousands of people marched through the streets of Brussels, Belgium’s capital, to protest the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. The protest eventually escalated into fights with police, resulting in the arrest of 55 people.

According to police estimates, 3,500 protesters marched through the streets of Brussels. The rally’s organizers, on the other hand, claimed that up to 50,000 people participated in the event.

The protests in Belgium’s capital have been going on for several weekends now, with all of the prior gatherings being marred by street violence. A huge police presence joined the march on Sunday.

The protesters condemned the enduring anti-coronavirus restrictions and policies like the rollout of a Covid-19 health pass – something that they see as an “obligation” to vaccination. The marchers were seen carrying assorted placards, reading “I’ve had my fair dose,” “Enough is enough” and “Do not touch our children.”

CNN Doctor: Wear Masks At Home And Take Tests On Christmas Morning [Video]

“Another thing we could do is we could all get tested the morning of our getting together,” Schaffner further urged, before sharing a heartwarming story of how his own family did that for Thanksgiving.

“We were all negative. It worked out just fine,” the doctor declared.

Facebook Users Were Spied On By ‘Cyber-Mercenaries’ [Tweet]

Meta has suspended seven accounts for conducting ‘surveillance-for-hire’ operations on 50,000 members. The Israeli-run Black Cube, which was hired by disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein, is one of the banned firms.

The US digital giant, which controls Facebook and Instagram among other services, claims to have uncovered huge surveillance operations that broke its terms of service. According to the business, they used Meta platforms to passively watch on users, engage them directly to trick them into providing critical information, and plant malware on their devices.

According to the business, the seven entities are part of a growing “surveillance-for-hire” economy fueled by social media’s connection. According to the report, such firms perform “indiscriminate monitoring” on behalf of their customers, focusing on dissidents, journalists, human rights advocates, and others.

The seven now-banned actors were discovered following a “months-long investigation,” and they worked in over 100 countries, targeting about 50,000 people. Meta said it will alert people affected.

“To help disrupt these activities, we blocked related infrastructure, banned these entities from our platform and issued Cease and Desist warnings,” Meta said. “We also shared our findings with security researchers, other platforms, and policymakers so they too can take appropriate action.”

Cobwebs Technologies, Cognyte, Black Cube, Bluehawk CI, BellTroX, and Cytrox are six of the private security organizations targeted by Meta’s retaliation. According to the business, hundreds of accounts linked to each of them were blocked.

Protests Against Covid-19 Restrictions in New Zealand With 90% of Vaccinated [Video]

Thousands of people marched through New Zealand’s capital Wellington, led by a group of motorcycles, to protest obligatory Coivd-19 vaccinations and lockdowns in the country, which has hit the 90 per cent vaccination mark.

According to local media reports, the march on Thursday drew roughly 3,000 demonstrators. A mass of primarily uncovered activists marched from the country’s central business area to the Beehive, the country’s parliament, where they held a demonstration.

The procession, which had been headed by dozens of motorcyclists, carried signs reading: ‘Freedom over fear’, ‘Lockdowns destroy lives’, and ‘Kiwis are not lab rats’, among others.

The protesters at the Beehive chanted “You serve us” and “Show us your face.” However, the calls, addressed to MPs, were in vain as the parliament closed for holidays on Wednesday.

Dutch Politician Censured For Comparing COVID Restrictions to Holocaust [Tweet]

A Dutch MP was forced to delete tweets that compared the Covid-19 epidemic restrictions to the Holocaust, but he says he will challenge the jury’s ruling, which he calls “crazy.”

On Wednesday, an Amsterdam judge found that right-wing Forum for Democracy MP Thierry Baudet was “pointlessly offending Holocaust victims and their relatives” on social media and ordered him to erase the posts within 48 hours or face a fine of €25,000 ($28,000) for each day he took his time. Baudet was also barred from utilizing Holocaust-related pictures in conversations about the Covid-19 health restrictions, according to the court.

“I’ve just deleted four tweets I was required to delete by a judge. Same with Instagram and Facebook messages,” Baudet wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

Adding that he was “deeply sad that I am not allowed to express what I deeply believe,” he underlined that “we will certainly appeal.” He also called it “incomprehensible” and “crazy.”

In one of the tweets, now deleted, Baudet said that the unvaccinated were “the new Jews” and “those who look away from the exclusions are the new Nazis.” He also placed side by side an image of a ghetto child with a Star of David with a photo of an unvaccinated Dutch child unable to attend a party.

Strange footage shows Santa Claus being arrested for not wearing a mask at a Christmas market in Germany.

A video circulating on social media shows a group of police officers surrounding a man dressed as Santa Claus before frog-marching him out of the event while the crowd cheered him on and criticized the police.

On Twitter, users voiced their disgust at the horrible sight. This comes just a day after German police were seen walking in between anti-lockdown demonstrators using a long ruler to keep them socially distanced by 6 feet.

Nearly 90,000 Hong Kong Residents Have Applied For Resettlement in UK [Tweet]

UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that the UK Foreign Office had received approximately 90,000 relocation requests from Hong Kong residents holding British National (Overseas) passports.

In January, the United Kingdom, which controlled Hong Kong until 1997, extended an offer of resettlement and eventual full citizenship to holders of BN(O) passports and their dependents in response to a sweeping national security law that most observers say allows Beijing to crack down on dissenting voices.

“By the end of September, 88,000 people had applied for visas under this scheme. On behalf of the government, I welcome them warmly to the UK,” British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss wrote in a new UK government report on Hong Kong.

“The erosion of liberty in Hong Kong is an affront to freedom and democracy” she wrote in a tweet announcing the report, which is published every six months.

When the resettlement plan was first revealed, UK officials predicted that up to 154,000 Hong Kong residents could seek to relocate in the first year, with up to 322,000 more in the following five years.

Following Beijing’s announcement that the BN(O) passport would no longer be recognized as a legal document, the UK scheme was implemented.

A poll conducted by the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford earlier this year found that nearly one-third of BN(O) passport holders were considering relocating to the UK.

German Political Elite Wants to Ban Telegram [Tweet]

The German establishment reacts sharply to the instant messaging service Telegram, which allows freedom of expression for its users. There is talk of blocking the service, Watson reports.

“What is spread on Telegram is not only disgusting and indecent, it is often also criminal,” said Germany’s newly appointed Liberal justice Minister Marco Buschmann on Monday.

Politicians and the media around Germany are now sounding the alarm about “right-wing extremists” and Covid critics that they can use Telegram for the free exchange of views and to organize demonstrations.

The service has become increasingly popular as political censorship of social media has increased.

“As for the Telegram, the state must react quickly,” Thuringian Interior Minister Georg Maier (SPD) told Süddeutsche Zeitung on Tuesday.

If the service does not get significantly better at censoring, “fines must follow,” Maier continued. He pointed out that there are many vaccine sceptics and supporters of the “far-right Alternative for Germany” in Thuringia and that these groups must be stopped.

Georg Maier emphasizes that so-called geoblocking – that the service is completely blocked in certain regions – may become relevant.

The German media sound the alarm that “radical corona deniers” in particular use Telegram.

The German Green Party and the Liberal Party FDP, both in the new left-wing government, want to change the law so that companies providing messaging services are forced to report “hate crimes” committed by users. Such a censorship law already applies to ordinary social media such as Facebook and Twitter in Germany.

Carlisle United Football Club has announced that its stadium capacity will be reduced to 9,999 to avoid requiring fans to present their COVID passports before entering.

The club took the decision in the wake of yesterday’s House of Commons vote on vaccination passports. Despite the government’s own internal assessment stating that COVID passports do not work and may even make the transmission of the virus worse, any venue with more than 10,000 people attending is now compelled to adopt the costly and draconian plan.

Carlisle United, on the other hand, has devised a clever technique to get around the laws and save their fans from showing to the vaccination pass.

The club can confirm there will be no mandatory Covid certification at Brunton Park at this time,” said the club in a statement, adding that they were now operating under a “revised” lower capacity to ensure fans don’t need to show their medical papers.

“There will be no requirement to show vaccination status or a recent negative test to enter the stadium and come to games,” says the statement.

The statement also made it clear that face masks would not be mandatory in all but a few areas of the ground.
